Happy 5th Birthday KFS School

As we move into 2021, it has been the little things that have made the last year doable. For me it has been the community that has brought me laughter, gratitude, love, joy and above all being able to listen to the children around me discuss their fears of what is happening around the world.  Learning to move slower and listening more deeply.

Five years ago today, I opened KFS School and I was told that if your business can make it to 5 years you have a better chance of survival…and that was without a pandemic. Well, last March and couple other times I didn’t know if we would have made it this far. From our supportive community, some ANGELS stepped up and ensured our longevity through encouraging phone calls, volunteering their time and energy, and financial donations.

I truly believe it takes a team and there are so many people who have stood by the KFS School’s side through all of the changes. My heart overflows with special THANK YOU’s! First, Lily Nguyen and Andrej Oslica for holding of our yearly fundraisers at The Grand!  That money funded our first summer STEAM Program and helped it grow to what it is today.  To Dawn Bizzell from The Legal Kids Club, her wealth of knowledge in curriculum has helped us shift direction and take our kids to a whole new level with academics. Thursdays are the best days thanks to Benjamin Renaud as his coding class. Thank you to David Harmon for opening his vineyard to the school and contributing to our events!

Additionally, Amazon NeighborGood Program just donated up a ton of outside gym equipment, computers, and science kits that the children are loving. Thank you to board members, past and present, for helping at the helm of the school. A school is nothing without its teachers. I am so grateful for our former teachers who helped make this school what it is. I have a special shout out for our current team – Nicolette Franceschini and Daniel Smith – I couldn’t survive the day without you. The biggest thank you is to my families who have been so supportive through all of the ups and downs! It takes a community and I have seen this community grow in ways that every way that matters.

From a heart overflowing with love and gratitude,
